Slipped over and adjustable on the 2 in. wide waist belt are typically, two lifting handles. The handle/handles are configured one, on either side of the rear “web T” of the CareGiver-Lift”transfer belt. This page provides you to reorder or add additional handles. The lifting handle can be slid around on the belt to provide the caregiver the option of where to lift the patient’s weight. Typically, the lifting handles will be at the patients side for lifting, translating, sitting, physical therapy and transfers. This variable position provides a means for the caregiver to lift from the front or back, while also providing the caregiver the means to walk along side the patient, thus reducing the risk of caregiver injury, and safety to the patient. Measuring 149mm wide x 116mm tall x 33.95mm thick, the features of the handle consist of:

  • 89 mm wide Lifting Beam. Providing a full five finger, 89mm wide x 23mm dia. beam, the design includes a stress riser egg at the center of the handle to flow the loads of lifting back out to the handle end interface with the lifting beams. The beam of the handle is located 28mm from the body of the handle, a sufficient distance to get fingers and rings around the lifting beam.

  • Lifting Columns. Two 115mm high x 30mm highly rounded cross section lifting columns form the ends vertical structure of the handle. Your hands are protected from the sides by the lifting column. Lifting loads generated at the perineum belt are transferred via the waist belt, translated through these lifting columns and taken out by your hands around the lifting beam.

  • Web Surround Structure. Rounding out the handle design is the center web surround structure that acts as the central load carrying member of the handle. The waist belt enters one end and exits out the other side of the structure. Measuring 89mm width x 64mm high, the web surround structure merges into the lifting columns to transfer the load from the waist belt to the lifting beam. Distinct design features of the structure are:

Web Containment Groove: The web belt is contained within a 55.79mm high x 6.55mm wide horizontal groove within the bottom of the web surround structure. The weight of the patient is distributed over the structure below the horizontal grove and transferred up through the two lifting columns to the lifting beam.

Conformal Body Contour: The inside surface of the web surround structure is contoured with a radius of 300.5mm to accommodate the patients waist profile.

Viewing Cutouts: A web cutout window is contained within the center-line of the web surround structure. Measuring 41mm wide x 37mm high, the window allows a means to transport the web belt through the structure in addition to the aesthetics of viewing the belt, once configured.
